There are people who study scripture, well, pretty much as if it was their full time job. Most of us read a bit here, and a bit there.
If they do read it, the majority (57 percent) only read their Bibles four times a year or less. Only 26 percent of Americans said they read their Bible on a regular basis (four or more times a week).
I can tell you one thing, if we don't read on a regular basis, we begin to starve. If believers are starving, why aren't we hungry? That's an interesting concept. It seems like the more we read, the more we hunger (desire) - in a good way. If we keep the Bible out of reach, we tend to lose the flavor for it and drift off to other pursuits.

They say the average Christian's house has 4.4 bibles in it. So what, if it's just for decoration. Why not have 4.4 Bibles per person? Why not have one in the kitchen for when you rise up? Why not have a Bible by your bed for when you lie down? How 'bout in your car and on your desk at work? And, you can count your phone app, if you must. Let that be for anytime you "walk along the way."
While we are waiting to feast with our returning Savior, let's feast on Him - He IS the living Word. He told us that we "must eat and drink Him." He will not return void. He is powerful and sharper than any two edged sword.
If you have been snacking on Jesus (Yeshua), whether you have one Bible or four, pick it up. Make regular meals to be your routine. And you will never lack for food or water again.
but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him willnever thirst again; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life. John 4:14
